(Spirit Lake)– You’ll have to find something else to do with those old shoppers and other newspapers and paper items. The Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis is closing its paper trailer drop-off site adjacent to the Spirit Lake Public Work building effective immediately.
Club President Angela Kofoot tells KUOO news the facility where the paper was shipped to in Mason City for recycling was recently destroyed in a fire, leaving them without a source.
Kofoot says the closure of the drop-off site is likely permanent. She says the revenue the club was receiving from the operation was very minimal.
