(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake city council Tuesday voted unanimously to approve the first phase of the Center Lake Watershed Drainage Improvements Project.
Public Works Director Dwight Dohlman told the council the project will be financed by federal and local funding…(click here for comment.) “Well the Dickinson County Soil and Water Conservation District applied for Section 319 and was successful in getting the amount of funds of $374,111. The matching responsibility for that from the city is $54,000.”
The project includes construction of bio-retention cells on the northwest side of Immanuel Lutheran Church; near the hospital; and in the southwest corner of the Bomgaar’s parking lot.
Dohlman says some permeable pavers will be installed near the Eyecare Center as part of the project, which is intended to slow down and filter storm water runoff before it reaches Center Lake.
