(Ida Grove)– A skilled nursing facility in northwest Iowa is closing its doors for good.
Morningside Care Center in Ida Grove announced Monday they will be closing August 15th, or as soon as their residents are safely moved to other facilities.
In a news release, Morningside Care Center says they can no longer sustain losses due to under-funding of Medicaid from the state, COVID, and the increase in support costs. The company that owns the facility plans to put the property up for sale once the closure occurs.
The Morningside Care team is assisting employees and residents through the transition, assisting in finding new employment and homes.
