Six Year-Old Boy Found Unresponsive Last Week At Spencer Aquatic Center Dies

(Spencer)– A six year-old boy who was found unresponsive last week in a pool at the Spencer Aquatic Center has passed away.

Spencer Police announced this (Monday) morning Michael Rohan of Spencer passed away at 8:50 a.m. Sunday at a Sioux Falls hospital.

Authorities say Rohan was found floating unresponsive in the pool last Wednesday (6/13). Pool staff and EMS personnel performed CPR on Rohan, who was then taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital and was flown to Sioux Falls.

Spencer police and medical personnel are ruling the death an accident.

Officials with the Spencer Aquatic Center issued a statement this (Monday) morning stating “Out of respect for the family of Michael Rohan, the Spencer Family Aquatic Center will remain closed pending funeral arrangements.”
