(Orange City)– A burn ban is now in affect in Sioux county. The ban on open burning took affect at 8:00 am Tuesday and officials say it will remain in place until further notice.
Officials say the action was taken out of concern with the ongoing dry conditions and that the threat for fires will likely increase as vegetation starts to dry out more in the fall, especially if rainfall amounts remain well below normal.
