(Orange City)– A single-vehicle crash this past Saturday in Sioux county claimed the life of a Spirit Lake man.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Jon Cam of Spirit Lake was eastbound on county road northeast of Orange City when he lost control of a 1991 Jeep Wranger. The vehicle left the roadway, went into a ditch and vaulted over another roadway before coming to rest in a bean field.
Cam was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to an Orange City hospital and was transferred by air to Mercy Hospital in Sioux City where he passed away Saturday night.
The mishap took place around 2:19 a.m. Saturday.
