(Des Moines)– Sioux Central is one of 25 Iowa school districts awarded grants through the Iowa Department of Education assisting students affected by homelessness.
Sioux Central was awarded $7,000 to create or sustain resource hubs in school buildings. Students experiencing homelessness can access basic necessities such as personal hygiene supplies, clothing, food, emergency supplies, access to laundry equipment, portable shower units and materials needed to create sustainable food pantries and clothing closets.
The Sioux Central Community School District serves Linn Grove, Peterson, Rembrandt, Sioux Rapids and Webb.
