November 22, 2014 Steve Schwaller

(Spencer)– A single-vehicle crash Monday on Highway 18 in Clay county seriously injured a ruralĀ Algona woman.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 59-year-old Marina McNeill was driving a 2003 Dodge Neon westbound when she lost control. The vehicle left the road and collided head-on with a tree.

McNeill was transported by ambulance to Spencer Hospital and was then life-flighted out. Authorities say she sustained a laceration to her right knee and was complaining of neck and back pain.

The vehicle was totaled.

The crash took place shortly after 8:30 a.m.
