Single Vehicle Crash Seriously Injures SL Man

(Jackson, Mn.)– A single-vehicle crash early Monday afternoon in Middletown Township of Jackson county seriously injured a Spirit Lake man.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says 54-year-old Gerald Shilvock of Spirit Lake was driving a 2000 Dodge van southbound on County Road 2 when he lost control. The vehicle traveled into the west ditch where it struck a field approach. The van then went airborne for about 15 to 20 yards before coming to rest near a fence.

Shilvock was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. He was then airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital for further treatment of serious injuries.

The crash took place shortly after 1:30 p.m.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Spirit Lake First Responders and the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics.
