Single Vehicle Crash Seriously Injures E’ville Man

(Estherville)– A single vehicle crash early this (Friday) morning seriously injured an Estherville man.

Estherville police say they were called to the intersection of Highway Four and South First Street shortly after 3:30 a.m.

Upon investigating officers determined 21-year-old Nicholas Erickson of Estherville had been traveling eastbound on South First Street when the 1991 Buick Regal he was driving left the roadway and collided with an embankment on the east side of Highway Four.

Erickson was taken by ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville and was later flown to a Sioux Falls hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Estherville Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol.

Estherville police were assisted by the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office and the Estherville ambulance.
