(Sheldon)– A Sheldon man was injured Wednesday when a vehicle he was driving went into a ditch and struck a tree, coming to rest on its top. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Edwin Castro was driving a 2006 Mazda northbound on McKinley Avenue about three miles north of Sheldon when the crash occurred.
Castro was taken by ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center.
He was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and operating without a valid driver’s license.
The crash took place around 5:45 in the morning.
