Sibley-Ocheyedan CSD Is Re-Drawing District Director Boundaries

April 05, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Sibley)– The Sibley-Ocheyedan School District is re-drawing board of director district lines as part of a requirement to ensure they have consistent populations.

Superintendent James Craig says the school board will hold a public hearing April 11th on three different plans drawn up by a consultant.

Craig says all three plans change enough that a director will be removed from their seat during their term. He says two of the three plans would change District 3, which would cause Jamie Arend to be removed because he would no longer live in that district. Craig says another would change District 2, causing Kyle Grimes to lose his seat as he would no longer be a resident of that district.

The school board will act on one of the plans following the April 11th hearing. That plan will then go to the Iowa Secretary of State office and would go into effect immediately.
