Sibley Man Sentenced On Federal Meth Charges

November 22, 2014

(Sioux City)—A Sibley man has been sentenced to more than six years in federal prison after pleading guilty in U.S. District Court to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of meth.

49-year-old Esmelin Belloso-Valle admitted at a plea hearing his involvement in a conspiracy from 2011 through April 2012 that distributed more than 150 grams of pure methamphetamine. Court documents state that one of the controlled transactions with an undercover law enforcement officer took place within a thousand feet of a park in Sioux City. The execution of a search warrant resulted in officers finding over 208 grams of pure meth that prosecutors say was intended for distribution as part of the conspiracy.

Belloso-Valle is being held in the custody of a U.S. Marshal until he can be transported to a federal prison.
