Sibley Is Now A Bit Closer To Getting Water From The Lewis & Clark Pipeline

April 28, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Worthington, Mn.)– Sibley is a step closer to getting water from the Lewis and Clark Regional Water System thanks to action taken earlier this week by officials in Nobles county, Minnesota.

That county’s Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Adjustment approved a variance to run a water pipeline 7.6 miles to the Iowa border, to eventually connect with Sibley. The permit was needed to meet a setback requirement along a township road in Nobles county.

Without the variance, officials with Lewis and Clark say they would have had to locate the pipeline further out into farm fields.
