Shooting Near Truman, Mn. Leaves Four Injured

July 05, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Truman, Mn.)– An investigation is underway into a shooting in southern Minnesota that injured four people.

The Martin County Minnesota Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called around 11:43 pm Monday to a residence near Truman after getting a report of shots that had been fired at a large gathering. They say an 18-year-old male and an 18-year-old female were both treated and released. A 19-year-old man was taken to a Mankato hospital and a 20-year-old man was transferred to a Rochester hospital. Both are said to be recovering.

The Sheriff’s Office describes it as an isolated incident, adding that there is no danger to the public.

They say the incident is still under investigation and that anyone with information should contact the Martin County Sheriff’s Office at 507-238-4481. A press release doesn’t say whether or not any arrests have been made.

(This story has been corrected to show the 19-year-old victim was taken to a Mankato hospital, not Fairmont as reported in the earlier version).
