(Primghar)– A Sheldon man faces charges for allegedly trying to obtain a state identification card by using fraudulent documents.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested 27-year-old Clemente Lopez Suarez Thursday at the O’Brien County Treasurer’s Office where he allegedly presented a false social security number and birth certificate in an attempt to obtain an ID card.
Upon further investigation Suarez produced documents claiming he was Jesus Christopher Cantu is an attempt to obtain documents that would have let him obtain employment.
It was also discovered he allegedly used another false identity of Kevin Jonathon Romero and had previous arrests in Nebraska and Minnesota.
He is also wanted out of Sioux county for failure to appear for possession of marijuana and a probation revocation for operating while intoxicated.
Suarez will appear in O’Brien County District Court at a later date. He could also face deportation, as Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials were also notified.
Bond for Suarez was set at five thousand dollars. An immigration detainer was also placed on him.
