(Sheldon)– Fire Saturday evening heavily damaged a house in Sheldon.
Firefighters were called around 9:30 pm to 1816 East 9th Street and found smoke coming from the chimney and could be seen through a living room window. Mutual aid was requesting from departments from Sanborn and Hospers. Firefighters entered the home and found fire burning in a basement bedroom. It was quickly extinguished.
Four pets in the house reportedly perished in the fire.
Firefighters were on the scene about an hour and-a-half.
No one was said to be home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
