(Spirit Lake)– A semi rollover late yesterday (Mon.) afternoon on Highway 86 at the Iowa/Minnesota border made for quite a mess and sent one person to the hospital.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Brady VanSloten of Ireton was driving a 2005 Peterbuilt tractor-trailer southbound when he lost control on the second curve, tipping the truck loaded with wet cake onto its side.
VanSloten was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare where he was treated for non-incapacitating injuries.
VanSloten was cited for failure to maintain control and failure to maintain a seat belt.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by Dickinson County Emergency Management, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Iowa State Patrol, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance, Spirit Lake Fire Department, Spirit Lake First Responders and Jennings Tow and Repair.
