Semi Crash On I90 Near Fairmont Injures Sioux City Man

November 22, 2014

(Fairmont, Mn.)—A Sioux City man was injured last (Thurs.) night when a semi in which he was a passenger lost control and went into a median on snow-covered Interstate 90 near Fairmont.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the driver of the rig, 39-year-old Oscar Bautista of Sioux City, lost control while going through a snow cloud that had been kicked up by another vehicle. The 2004 Kennworth he was driving left the road and came to rest on the westbound side of the median with the tractor facing south.

A passenger, 55-year-old Jeffrey Sherman of Sioux City, was taken to the Fairmont Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. No injuries were reported to Bautista.

Moderate damage was reported to the semi tractor/trailer.

The crash took place shortly after 11:00 p.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Fairmont Police Department, Martin County Sheriff’s Office and the Gold Cross Ambulance and paramedics.
