Semi Collides With Grain Wagon Injuring Two People

November 22, 2014

(Windom, Mn.)– A collision Tuesday evening on Highway 60 two miles west of Windom involving a semi and a grain wagon resulted in minor injuries and sent two people to the hospital, along with making a mess on the road.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 54-year-old Steven Schultz of Sioux Falls was driving a 2010 International semi westbound when he rear-ended a grain wagon being pulled by a pickup driven by 61-year-old Beverly McCarvel of Brewster. The semi came to rest in a field; the wagon disconnected from the pickup, dumping soybeans all over the highway.

Both drivers were taken to Sanford Hospital in Windom where they were treated and released.

The semi driven by Schultz and a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup driven by McCarvel were both totaled.

The collision took place around 7:15 p.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office.
