(Spencer)– A Spencer man faces new drug charges after authorities conducted a probation search of his residence Monday.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office conducted the search in cooperation with the Third Judicial District Adult Probation Office at the residence of 64-year-old Harold Dearth at 928 Second Avenue Southeast, apartment Two in Spencer.
Dearth’s probation stems from his arrest in February of 2008 on several meth charges.
During the search Monday, deputies seized over a half ounce of what’s alleged to be crystal methamphetamine with a street value of between 1,800 and two thousand dolalrs.
Dearth was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver methamphetamine; failure to affix a drug tax stamp; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was booked into the Clay county jail on a 10-thousand dollar bond.
Authorities say the investigation continues and additional arrests are expected.
