(Spirit Lake)– What started as a complaint of suspicious activity at a Spirit Lake residence has landed two South Dakota men in jail on drug charges.
Spirit Lake police say officers went to a residence at 600 252nd Street to follow-up on the complaint. Upon arriving they detected a strong smell of marijuana. A subsequent investigation resulted in officers obtaining a search warrant. They returned to the scene and conducted the search around 10:45 p.m. Monday. They found a green plant material alleged to be marijuana.
25-year-old Chase Ohme and 34-year-old Bryan Tomforde, both of Sioux Falls, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
