August 25, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Sioux Center)– A Sibley man was arrested early this (Fri.) morning in connection with a collision Thursday evening in Sioux county involving an S-U-V and a tractor.

Authorities say 50-year-old Marvin Lopau of Sibley was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer eastbound on a county road about a mile east of Sioux Center when he crossed the center line and sideswiped a 1973 International tractor driven by 19-year-old Conner Oolman of Orange City. An investigation resulted in deputies discovering Lopau was in possession of illegal drugs. Lopau was arrested shortly after 1:00 am this (Fri.) morning and was charged with 3rd offense possession of methamphetamine. He was also cited for failure to yield half of the roadway and failure to provide proof of insurance.

No injuries were reported in the collision.
