(Spencer)– An investigation into a report of a suspicious person near Spencer resulted in the arrest of a Ruthven man on weapons and drug charges.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the initial report was received on August 1st of this year in the 3100 mile of Highway 18. Upon investigating, deputies discovered the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Jonathan Sutherland, was carrying a switchblade. He was placed under arrest on a charge of carrying a dangerous weapon and was booked into the Clay county jail.
Upon further investigation, deputies determined Sutherland was in possession of what’s alleged to be a broken meth pipe. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sutherland was being held pending an initial appearance before a magistrate.
