(Spencer)– A rural Spirit Lake man has been charged for allegedly sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Clint Robinson was arrested early this (Tuesday) morning following an investigation into a complaint from a 16-year-old female who reported she had allegedly been sexually assaulted while she was passed out at a party at a farm residence in Clay county where alcohol was being served.
Robinson was charged with sexual abuse in the third degree…a class “C” felony. He was released on bond.
Authorities say a search warrant executed on the suspect’s residence resulted in several items of clothing being taken into custody, along with samples of DNA. The items have been sent to the DCI crime lab for testing.
Deputies say the alleged incident took place on Sunday. It was reported to them Monday.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office in executing the search warrant.
