(Sanborn)– Minor injuries were reported in a single vehicle rollover Saturday on Highway 18 a little more than a mile west of Sanborn.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Rashad Bettis of Sheldon was driving a a 1992 Oldsmobile eastbound when the vehicle left the road to the right. Deputies say Bettis over-corrected and the vehicle struck a mailbox. It then went into the north ditch where it flipped over and landed on its roof.
Bettis sustained minor injuries but apparently didn’t seek immediate treatment.
Bettis was charged with operating while intoxicated, failure to maintain control and no proof of insurance.
Three thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
The crash took place around 2:40 a.m.
