Rock Rapids Man Indicted On Federal Child Porn Charge

(Sioux City)– A Rock Rapids man has been indicted in U.S. District Court on a child pornography charge.

The charge against 26-year-old Lennon Shade is contained in an indictment unsealed September 11th. It alleges that between 2010 and 2011, Slade distributed, received and possessed child pornography. It also alleges that in October, 2011 he altered, destroyed, mutilated and concealed evidence with intent to impede, obstruct and infuence an investigation.

If convicted on all charges, Slade faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years’ imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of 90 years’ imprisonment along with $1,500,000 in fines and atleast 5 years and up to life on supervised release following any imprisonment.

Slade appeared in federal court on September 11th and was released on bond. Trial is set for November 5th.
