(Undated)– Multiple road projects are getting underway in southwest Minnesota. One of those involves Jackson County Road 14, or Mill Road, from Lakefield to County Road 9, which is closed for a project getting underway today (Wednesday).
Another project involves work on Highway 4 from Sherburn to Ormsby. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says that’s expected to begin next Monday. Construction will be done in phases. The first one, from Sherburn to Watonwan County Road 8 near Ormsby will be closed, with traffic detoured to Martin County Road 8 near Dunnell, Martin County road 13, Interstate 90, Martin County Road 27 and Watonwan County Road 8 near Ormsby. That’s expected to last until late August.
Highway 4 through Sherburn will also be closed starting April 29th for around three weeks, traffic will be detoured to Martin County Road 13 and I-90.
The project includes roadway, bridge and drainage improvements and repair, 25 miles of resurfacing, along with replacement of a bridge and repair of some others. Improvements for pedestrians are also planned in the cities of Sherburn and Trimont. The project should be finished in August, weather permitting.
