RIDES Unveils New App

(Spencer)– RIDES Regional Transit Authority is unveiling a new tool to assist those who utilize the service. Cindy Voss, Associate Executive Director, says it’s an app that’s now available for downloading…

“All people need to do is log on to their Apple Store or their Google Play Store and look up the R Mobile app. We are new so we’re going to be kind of towards the bottom, but they download that and it literally walks them through it. If they have any questions they can call the office and we’d be happy to talk them through it as well. We will be having brochures and a lot of our partnering agencies and the drivers will have them, and it has step-by-step directions on it as well.”

Voss says the app has a number of convenient features…

“You know an adult child who lives in another state for their parent, if they want to book it, or a counselor or a client manager for an individual can log on and book those trips. And then the app lets you know what bus is coming, how far it is out, when it will arrive. You’ll get a notification that the trip has been completed and the individual has been dropped off. So it’s got some really fun features and we hope it really just allows people to make us that much more accessible to them.”

Voss says the app is going live today (Tuesday).
