Rick Santorum Brings Campaign To Spirit Lake

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A former U.S. Senator and a Republican Presidential hopeful brought his campaign to Spirit Lake Tuesday.

Rick Santorum is among those squaring off for the Republican Presidential nomination.

During his appearance at Hey Good Cookies, Santorum said it’s time the government focus less on entitlement programs and more on national security.

Santorum also called on congressional leaders to pass a balanced budget amendment to the constitution.

He added the upcoming presidential election will play a vital role in maintaining the very purpose of America, which he says is in jeopardy.

Santorum admitted to KUOO news his name doesn’t stand out nearly as prominent as others seeking the Republican nomination. He describing his campaign as “the little engine that could”. He firmly believes there are a number of important factors that differentiate him from the rest of the pack.

Santorum added he plans to participate in the August straw poll, but admits his presence probably won’t be as evident as that of some of the bigger-name candidates.
