(Emmetsburg)– A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday on the Veterinary Technician Building at the Emmetsburg campus of Iowa Lakes Community College.
Students began taking classes at the facility in the fall of 2011.
The classroom facility includes a large laboratory area, a classroom that also functions as lab space, two offices, a surgery suite, a pharmacy, a clinical pathology lab, full x-ray space with dark room, prep sinks and dental area, along with cats and a few rodents. The climate-controlled kennel can accomodate 12 dogs and also includes both indoor and outdoor runs as well as a fenced-in ‘play area’ for the canines. Students travel to the college farm laboratory for experience with large animals.
