(Spencer)– A retirement reception for Clay County Fair Manager Phil Hurst will be held Thursday, October 27th from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer. A short program will begin at 5:00 p.m. The public is urged to attend.
Hurst will retire October 31st after 12 years as Fair Manager. During his tenure, Hurst focused on expanding infrastructure of the Clay County Fair including The Depot, Livestock Pavilion, Events Center, U.S. Cellular Plaza and the Central Park Pergola. He also worked to spread more entertainment throughout the grounds.
Jeremy Parsons will succeed Hurst and will oversee his first Clay County Fair in 2012. The event will be held September 8th through the 16th.
