Residents Of Harris-Lake Park School District Urged To Participate In Childcare Survey

(Lake Park)– Residents of the Harris-Lake Park School District are being urged to participate in a survey regarding childcare. Lake Park Mayor Matt Carstensen says it was made possible through a grant awarded to the city and the Hometown Pride program, which Lake Park participates in…

“Most people recognize that there’s a shortage of daycare and so how do we best deal with that. That’s the purpose of the study. You know, how do we, what ages are we looking for and what’s the best scenario when it comes down to actually formulating a plan.”

Carstensen says First Children’s Finance, which awarded the grant, is assisting in the study…

“You know this is one of the initiatives that through our planning a couple of years ago we decided as a city that we need to try and help address this. So where it goes from once the survey is filled out, then it will give us a sense of direction of as what we maybe need to do as a city to help further this process and help establish a daycare. Maybe a daycare center or additional daycare providers in the community.”
