(Orleans)– A request by county officials for the city of Orleans to put in some additional roll-offs at it’s recycling drop-off site got a cold reception at Monday’s City Council meeting. The city provides the site for Orleans residents. Those living in unincorporated areas can also utilize the site with the county paying a subsidy to the city in exchange. Maas says the city of Orleans simply doesn’t have the manpower to constantly monitor the site. A decline in the number of recycling drop-off sites in recent years has been a source of concern with county officials.
