Reps. Of Spencer Organizations, Businesses and Associations Urged To Attend Coordinating Council Meeting

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Representatives of community organizations, businesses and associations in Spencer looking to communicate their mission, activities, events and programs are urged to attend a meeting scheduled for 12 Noon Thursday, April 21st.

Organizers say the purpose is to establish a coordinating council. Bonnie Dalager, a Program Director with the Iowa State University Extension office in Spencer, says the council is an off-shoot from an economic development summit the city of Spencer held in June of last year. The summit brought together community members to work to build and improve on the city’s economic outlook.

Dalager says one of the outcomes of that session was the establishment of a Coordinating Council made up of community members who have networking relationships with service organizations and businesses that serve the community through activities, events and fundraisers. She says the goal is to improve communication between organizations as well as communicating events and activities to the public.

Those interested in attending the April 21st meeting are asked to RSVP by calling the Clay County Extension office at 262-2264. A light lunch will be served.
