(Spirit Lake)– A report from the Iowa Hospital Association details the impact of Lakes Regional Healthcare on the local economy. It shows the hospital generated about 584 jobs that added $34.6 million to Dickinson county’s economy.
The study was compiled from data submitted by LRH to an annual survey of hospitals conducted by the American Hospital Association.
The study found that statewide, hospitals in Iowa employed 145,252 people in 2022 with more than $9.3 billion in wages. The report says hospital expenses accounted for more than $21.5 billion of the state’s gross domestic product.
