(Cylinder)– The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office has released details into a rendering truck crash last Friday that injured two people.
Authorities say Mark Husaboe of Ayrshire was driving a 2000 Peterbilt semi hauling dead livestock to a rendering plant in Estherville. Deputies say Husaboe was northbound north of Cylinder on Highway 18 and was approaching the T-intersection at a high rate of speed. Instead of driving straight off the intersection, deputies say Husaboe attempted to turn right instead, causing the semi to overturn, with the trailer spilling its cargo into the ditch. The truck and trailer came to rest on the driver’s side.
Husaboe and a passenger who wasn’t identified were both taken to the Palo Alto County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The semi tractor and trailer were totaled.
The load was cleaned up and salvaged by the rendering company.
Husaboe was cited for failure to maintain control.
