(Milford)- The Dickinson County Relay for Life event is this weekend. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Relay for Life of Dickinson County will hold their fundraiser on Saturday at Grape Tree Medical from 10-1 in North Milford.
Co-Chair Nicole Evans says., this year’s theme is Colors of Hope. “There are different colors that represent the different types of cancer. We want to make sure that we are celebrating everybody, no matter what type of cancer that they’ve been through. Our focus with that is to remember, celebrate and embrace. So, remember those that we’ve lost. Celebrate those that have survived, and embrace those that are currently fighting the good fight.”
She adds that the event is open to all who wish to attend. “It’s a great place for us to have it this year. There will be a track lined up with luminaries honoring those that had cancer that they’ll be able to walk around. KUOO is going to be there with the Cruiser, so we’re going to have some great music. There’s shade where we’ll be able to have a meal. The meal is free for survivors, and anybody else that would like to eat, there is a free will donation. There’s going to be burgers that will be grilled up by the Cattlemen’s that McKeen’s is donating with some other goods to go there as well.”
