(Milford)-The Dickinson County Relay for Life event will be held at a new location this year. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Relay for Life of Dickinson County will hold their fundraising event on Saturday, June 18th.
Co-Chair Nicole Evans says, the event will be held at a new time and place. “We are going to be hosting our event for Dickinson County down at the Grape Tree Campus down in Milford. The event is going to take place from 10 am to 1 pm. We have a theme specific to us this year, it’s Colors of Hope. There are different colors that represent the different types of cancers, and our focus with that is, to remember, celebrate and embrace. So, remember those that we’ve lost, celebrate those that have survived, and embrace those that are currently fighting the good fight.”
She adds that organizers are seeking teams and sponsors at this time. “We’re looking for any teams or sponsors that still want to sign up. We’d be happy to have you and get you all the recognition that you deserve. We are also looking if anybody has any activities, and we’re looking for survivors. Anybody that’s willing to invite a survivor, we would really appreciate that, just to get them on our list so we can continue to get that information, as well, and make sure they get an invitation to these events every year. They get a tee shirt, a pin, a free meal and we do a survivor lap, and we want to make sure to honor them, and that we get as many survivors present as we can every year.”
