(Estherville)-It’s time to register for the Team Amy Run. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The 13th Annual Team Amy Event will be held in Estherville on Saturday, May 13.
Committee Member Lorie Irwin says, early bird registration ends this Friday. “There’s a few different ways that you can register. They can go to teamamyrun.com. There’s a link through facebook. We do have kind of an early bird thing going on right now through this Friday, it will ensure that you get your tee shirt, but we will be taking registrations afterwards. You can even sign up the morning of the race.”
She notes that the event will offer opportunities for all abilities. “They have a 1 Mile Children’s Fun Run, there’s a 10 K Run, a 5 K Run or Walk. If you’re not a runner but you want to walk, have at it. There’s also a 1 Mile Walk & Talk. They’ll do a little bit of an awards ceremony at the end of it. They start with the Children’s Fun Run at 8:45 a.m., and it’s pretty much 15 minute increments until the start the next race.”
The Team Amy Event has raised over $60,000 to date, with proceeds going to local families and individuals battling cancer.
