Registration underway for Iowa Rock Music Camp to be held July 26-28 in Arnolds Park

July 10, 2022 Becky Thoreson

Registration for the Iowa Rock Music Camp is underway. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association will host the 1st Annual Rock Music Camp July 26-28.

Executive Director Clay Norris says, several guest instructors will provide insight on a variety of topics. “We’ve got clinicians from the Des Moines Music Coalition coming. Jordan Mayland, he is the Director of this, and Jordan is a rocker in his own right, he’s been in several bands, and he is The Event Program Manager for the Des Moines Music Coalition. There’s going to be Anthony Maldonado, and he is a member of the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. He specializes in Hip-Hop, Rap and R&B, which is kind of cool. So, we’ve got 3 or 4 instructors that are coming and some local people, too. It will be an exciting time.”

He notes that registration is now open. “It’s a great price because of some generosity of the Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis, registration fee is only $40, and that $40 will include a free tee shirt, and we will have food and beverages and things like that. It is a daytime, not an overnight thing. We plan to have a Middle School/Junior High Division, a High School Division, and if we do have interest from college students, we’ll accommodate them.”
