November 22, 2014

(Undated)– A regional restaurant chain has raised more than two thousand dollars for Special Olympics Iowa.

Officials with Taco Johns recently presented a check for $2,344 to the organization.

The money was raised through donations at Taco John’s restaurants between December 1st and December 31st of this past year.

Restaurants in Cherokee, LeMars, Sheldon, Sioux City, Spencer, Spirit Lake and Storm Lake participated.

The donations will assist Special Olympics athletes in northwest Iowa as they train and compete in local, regional and state events.

Special Olympics Iowa serves 11,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and Unified Sports partners in all 99 Iowa counties.
