Railroad Days About To Get Underway In Sanborn

July 19, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Sanborn)– Railroad Days are about to get underway in Sanborn. Committee member Miranda Wetrich says it all gets started Thursday…

“We start with a free swim at the pool from 1:00 to 9:00 and there is a good old fashioned Cruise The Loop Car Cruise and the grilled cheese event from AMPI and a movie, “Wonder Park” is playing at the old Presbyterian Church.”

She says the fun continues Friday…

“We have a cook-off here at our hardware store here in town that is sponsored by them, then a community supper, a freewill donation community supper with the meat from the smoke-off, and then we have a kid friendly dance at Miller Park that night.”

Wetrich says Saturday will bring another full day of activities…

“The Mason’s pancake breakfast and the 5K that the Christian School holds every year. They are all at Miller Park. Everything is out at Miller Park on Saturday beside the parade, which is downtown like normal. There is a mimosa and bloody Mary bar hosted by the country club, and then in the park we have all sorts of things going on on Saturday. There is a volleyball tournament that you can still sign up for; a cornhole tournament that you can still sign up for; there’s bouncy houses; there’s face painting; there’s ice cream.”

There will also be a concert featuring Judd Hoos and special guest The Rathco.
