(Spencer)– The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a semi that was involved in a collision earlier today (Friday) with another semi and a car at the intersection of Highway 18 and County Road N-14.
Authorities say 22-year-old Thomas Wise of Emmetsburg was driving a 2000 International semi truck and 44-year-old Angela Reed of Ruthven was driving a 1997 Eagle vision. Authorities say Wise and Reed were westbound on Highway 18 when a semi tractor/trailer pulled out in front of them from County Road N-14.
Reed applied her brakes to avoid running into the semi when her car was struck from behind by the semi driven by Wise. The other semi continued east and didn’t stop. It’s described as a light green Freightliner with a sleeper pulling a hopper trailer that was bluish-green in color.
Anyone that may have seen a vehicle matching that description should contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
No injuries were reported in the collision.
1,500-dollars in damage was estimated to the truck driven by Wise; the car driven by Reed was totaled.
Authorities say the collision, which took place shortly after 7:30 a.m., remains under investigation.
