(Milford)– Reports of someone claiming to represent the Iowa Firefighters Association making calls soliciting donations from area residents are again making the rounds.
Milford Fire Chief Jim Carpenter tells KUOO news some people in his fire district have reported receiving such calls recently.
Carpenter and other area fire chiefs remind the public the calls are part of a scam. They say the association never solicits for donations on the phone.
The best advice is that if you would like to donate to your local fire department that you do so directly.
