(Spirit Lake)– Coming soon to a mailbox near you: your property tax statement.
Dickinson County Treasurer Kris Rowley says the tax bills went into the mail Thursday. She says any Dickinson county property owner that doesn’t get one in the next few days should check in with her office. There have been reports from some areas of the state of tax bills being sent to the wrong people.
The first half of the taxes is due in September. Late fees apply in October.
The statements went out much later than usual this year due to a delay by the State Legislature in passing a budget…about two months later than usual.
Rowley adds assistance is available for mobile home taxes and those who are disabled and the elderly who meet a certain income guideline. More information is available by contacting her office at 336-1205.
