Progress Continues On New K-12 School At Martin County West

January 21, 2026

(Sherburn, Mn.)– Progress continues on the construction of a new K-12 school at Martin County West in Sherburn. Superintendent Cory Reynolds says excitement is mounting as the building continues to take shape…

“They have now completed the exterior walls for the elementary classroom wing. They’re almost done with the shell of the early education wing, that’s kind of a one story part of the building that people will see immediately as they come on site. And then they will be turning their attention to the kind of main part of like the heart of the building, if you will. When you look at the drawings and things and you see the beautiful windows for the library, the offices, that’s the area they’re starting on next. To the west of that area, if you wills, is the elementary gym and storm shelter, so that’s where they’ll start on that phase, if you will.”

Reynolds says the project remains on schedule for completion in the early summer of 2027.

She adds crews will be removing asbestos and floor tiles from the high school building this summer as part of the advance preparations to tear it down.
