(Des Moines)– A very special honor for one of KUOO’s very own.
Sports Director Joey Elbert is one of five Iowa sports journalists being recognized this year with a special award by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
Since 1968 the association has honored members of the media that have positively impacted high school athletics with their coverage throughout the school year.
The award covers radio, TV and newspapers.
Nominations come from member schools and are based on the depth and breadth of coverage in the area of the nominee.
Our congratulations to Joey and his family on this very prestigious and well-deserved honor.
Joey and the other recipients will be recognized during at the half-time of the Class 1A Boys State Tournament Basketball game Friday, March 13th in Des Moines.
