(Undated)– Iowa is at elevated risk of rolling blackouts again this summer, but energy companies are not worried about running out of supply.
Reports from North American Electric Reliability Corporation and the Southwest Power Pool both suggest power demand could exceed supply in heatwaves. MidAmerican Energy and Alliant Energy say they’re monitoring the situation and making sure they have what’s necessary to fulfill customers’ needs.
The National Weather Service says Iowa has equal chances to see above or below-normal temperatures this summer.
