Possible Injuries Reported In Separate Collisions In O’Brien County

July 05, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Primghar)– Possible injuries were reported in two separate crashes late last week in O’Brien county. One of those involved a 17-year-old driver who lost control of a vehicle that started fish tailing on a gravel road. It went into a ditch and rolled. The teen was cited for failure to maintain control.

The other was a chain reaction collision that happened in Primghar. Authorities say 89-year-old Alice Marquart of Primghar was backing a 2023 Buick into a parking space when she accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal. Marquart’s vehicle then struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle, pushing it into a building causing about $10,000 in damage. Damage to each vehicle was estimated at about $15,000. Marquart and a passenger in her vehicle were checked over on the scene by paramedics and were released.
